Data-Use and Consent Agreement

Version: 1.0

This Agreement records the specific, affirmative choices you make about optional data uses. It supplements the Privacy Policy. Capitalized terms used here have the meaning given in the Privacy Policy.

1. What "I have read and accept" does

A single tap records an explicit, affirmative choice across the recommended optional uses that are lawfully default-able for you, based on your jurisdiction and age. It is not a forced bundle:

  • It never enables third-party sharing, which stays off until you explicitly enable it through a separate confirmation.
  • Where the law requires opt-in, where you have set a Global Privacy Control signal, or where you are a minor, the affected uses are off, and the single tap does not turn them on; you must enable them individually.
  • "Manage choices," presented with equal prominence and equally reachable, lets you set each use individually or choose minimal mode (all optional uses off, core service only).

2. The choices you control

(See Privacy Policy Section 4 for the full table.)

  • Analytics, required for the product to function; declining routes you to minimal mode.
  • Unified profile, to link your RingTime accounts into one profile.
  • Ad targeting, personalized advertising; off for minors and under Global Privacy Control.
  • Data sharing, to include your de-identified activity in industry insights.
  • Third-party sharing, to share your data with outside partners; off by default and never set by a single tap.

3. How your choice is recorded

Each choice is written as an immutable, versioned record containing: the value you set, the policy version in force, the source of the choice (single-tap, manage-choices, minimal-mode, settings, or Global Privacy Control), a hashed IP address, and a timestamp. Records are append-only and an immutable audit copy is retained. You may change any choice at any time in settings; the new choice is recorded as a new record.

4. Cross-product effect (most-restrictive)

If your accounts are linked through unified profile, the consent applied to your data is the most restrictive setting across all linked products. Turning a use off on any one product turns it off for the linked profile. An opt-out propagates automatically to future data.

You may withdraw any optional consent at any time without losing access to the core service. Withdrawal is recorded and propagated. It does not retroactively reverse processing of data already shared, but it stops future use and is honored across linked products.

6. Minors

Users under 13 are blocked at signup. Users between 13 and the age of majority are routed to a minimal experience: all optional uses are forced off, and ad-targeting consent is never shown.
